Headstands develop incredible shoulder, back, and core strength, body awareness, and coordination. All skills which are required to unlock forearm balance AND HANDstand. Without a proper and strong headstand practice, it's nearly impossible to balance on your forearms or hands.
In Headstand ELXR, we'll safely explore the fundamentals of headstands and provide a clear, methodical approach for a healthy headstand practice that will last a lifetime. We’ll spend time learning how to (1) intentionally warm up to prepare for headstand (2) how to strengthen the body for headstand, and (3) how to properly utilize the core to bring power and stability to your headstand - all skills that will help strengthen your everyday yoga practice.
We'll then explore 6 progressive headstands of a traditional yoga practice, many of which you probably never knew existed! Come curious to learn and get ready to take on a fresh perspective of standing on your head!
